Fez — Casablanca is set to host the fourth edition of the “Moroccan Festival of Andalusian Music” on May 15-16 at Théâtre l’Hermitage, with both evenings scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.

Organized by the Moroccan Association of Andalusian Music,” the festival will take place under the theme “Culture, a lever for development and sustainable influence.”

The event is being held under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, as part of broader efforts to preserve and promote Morocco’s musical heritage.

A festival rooted in preservation

The 2026 edition continues AMMA’s work to safeguard, transmit, and celebrate Moroccan Andalusian music while encouraging dialogue between the country’s diverse musical expressions.

Moroccan Andalusian music remains one of the Kingdom’s most emblematic cultural traditions, linking cities such as Fez, Tetouan, Rabat, and Oujda to a shared artistic memory shaped by centuries of exchange.

This year’s festival also comes at a symbolic moment for Casablanca’s cultural scene, as it coincides with the official opening period of the new Théâtre l’Hermitage, a venue expected to strengthen the city’s role as a major artistic hub.

Two nights of major Moroccan artists

The opening night, set forMay 15, will feature Rabat Andalusian Orchestra, led by Mohamed Amine Debbi, alongside veteran artist Haj Mohamed Bajeddoub and singer Bahaa Ronda.

The program will also include the Tetouan Andalusian Orchestra under the direction of Fahd Benkirane, as well as performances by tenor Hakim de España and singer Bilal El Houaj.

On May 16, Fez Andalusian Orchestra, conducted by Mohamed Briouel, will lead the closing evening. 

Singer Chaimae Imran is also scheduled to perform, along with the iconic Moroccan group Nass El Ghiwane and additional surprise guests.

The lineup reflects the festival’s ambition to bring together respected masters, established performers, and different regional schools of Moroccan music.
