Lugano – Shakira and Burna Boy have officially released “Dai Dai,” the official song for the FIFA World Cup, marking one of the most anticipated music collaborations tied to the upcoming tournament.

The track blends Latin pop, Afrobeats, dance production, and global influences, creating an energetic anthem centered around football, unity, and international celebration.

The release marks Shakira’s return to football’s biggest stage, after becoming closely associated with the FIFA World Cup through global anthems like“Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010 and “La La La (Brazil 2014).”

Meanwhile, Burna Boy’s appearance on the track highlights the continued global rise of Afrobeats within mainstream pop music and major international sporting events, while also making him one of the few African artists to feature on an official FIFA World Cup anthem.

Hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will become the largest edition of the tournament so far, expanding to 48 national teams and more than 100 matches.

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, the tournament will also launch with three separate opening ceremonies taking place across the host countries in Mexico City on June 11, followed by Toronto and Los Angeles on June 12, reflecting FIFA’s growing focus on large-scale entertainment and global celebration.

Moroccan-Canadian Nora Fatehi is scheduled to perform during Canada’s opening ceremony in Toronto alongside artists including Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, and Alessia Cara.

Additional performers announced across the tournament’s opening celebrations include Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Tyla, Anitta, Rema, and J Balvin, reflecting FIFA’s increasing focus on global pop culture and international music collaborations.

This FIFA edition will also feature its first-ever World Cup final halftime show, which will feature performances by Madonna, Shakira, and BTS.

The tournament will conclude with the final at MetLife Stadium near New York City on July 19.

As excitement builds ahead of the tournament, “Dai Dai” positions itself as another major global football anthem while reinforcing FIFA’s growing connection between music, entertainment, and international culture
