Fez — Institut Français Maroc announced the return of “Demain dès aujourd’hui” (Tomorrow Starts Today), a cultural and participatory event dedicated to eco-citizenship and ecological transition.
The 2026 edition is taking place throughout May across the French Institute network in Morocco, with an open program centered on the theme “Food: Impacts, Challenges, and Individual and Societal Responsibilities.”
The event positions food as more than a daily need. In fact, organizers describe it as a major lever for changing habits, linking what people eat to environmental pressure, agricultural practices, economic models, health, and collective values.
Institut Français Maroc is organizing the broader event in partnership with civil society actors, with Fondation BMCI supporting the 2026 edition.
The foundation, created in 2008, brings together BMCI’s long-running sponsorship work in culture and solidarity.
Food as a civic choice
This year’s program focuses on four main priorities: food waste, the ecological impact of eating habits, healthy and ethical local food, and food security and sovereignty.
Through these themes, “Tomorrow Starts Today” aims to connect individual consumption choices with wider social and environmental challenges.
The program includes debates, public meetings, participatory workshops, awareness campaigns, film screenings, exhibitions, concerts, performances, and “Village des initiatives” (Initiatives’ Village).
These activities are designed to highlight concrete local solutions led by citizens, schools, associations, and committed project leaders.
The event encourages the public to think about everyday practices that often remain invisible, from shopping and cooking to waste, sourcing, and production.
‘La Fête des Colibris’ in Casablanca
In Casablanca, the event will include the eighth edition of “La Fête des Colibris” (The Hummingbirds Festival), organized around “Initiatives Village” dedicated to sustainable food.
The program brings together associations and project leaders working on short supply chains, sustainable practices, awareness raising, and responsible alternatives.
Cheers to the future!
“Tomorrow Starts Today” reflects a growing effort to make ecological transition accessible through culture, education, and community participation.
The initiative connects global environmental concerns to choices people make every day in Moroccan homes, schools, markets, and neighborhoods.
