Casablanca – Moroccan-British model Nora Attal returned to her Moroccan roots as she posed for T: The New York Times Style Magazine Middle East North Africa, starring in the magazine’s September issue with a fashion story shot across Marrakech.
Photographed by Avani Rai, Attal appears in a series of looks against the Red city, bringing her international modeling career back to a place that has long remained close to her.
The shoot explores more than fashion, with Marrakech providing the setting for a story about identity, family, memory, and the different places she called home.
‘A full circle moment’
For Attal, the cover carries a little extra meaning. Sharing the news on social media, she looked back at where her magazine cover journey began.
She revealed that T magazine was her “first magazine cover 11 years ago,” making her latest cover “a little full circle moment.”
This time, she is on the cover of T MENA in Morocco, surrounded by what she described as “the best team.”
The new cover brings that story back to Morocco, where the Moroccan model has maintained a strong connection to her family roots despite growing up in Britain.

Between Britain and Morocco
Attal was born in London to Moroccan parents, and Morocco remained part of her childhood through regular family visits.
Larache, in particular, holds a special place in her story. She spent her summers there growing up, building memories around her family, home, and the Atlantic coast.
That connection has appeared in her work before. In 2019, Vogue Italia photographed Attal with three generations of her family at their home in Larache, where she has spent long summers since childhood.
The shot captured a more intimate side of the model, surrounded by her parents, siblings, and grandmother.
Her relationship with Morocco has also followed her into her fashion career.
Earlier interviews have highlighted her attachment to Larache and Tangier, as well as the role regular visits played in keeping her connected to Moroccan culture while she built her life and career in Britain.
Now, Marrakech becomes the latest Moroccan setting in that story.
Capturing a sense of belonging
Rather than simply providing a backdrop for the clothes, the Red City places Attal’s international fashion career alongside the country and memories that have shaped her.
T MENA’s story explores that sense of belonging, following a model whose life has unfolded between two countries, and the many places her career has taken her.
For the Nora Attal, the September cover therefore feels like more than another fashion milestone. It brings a familiar place into a new chapter of her career, turning a return to Morocco into something of a full-circle moment.
