Casablanca – Garlic is a staple that adds depth and character to countless recipes. It shows up everywhere in the kitchen, yet never loses impact.

In garlic bread though, it’s not just an ingredient, it’s the main character.

What makes this recipe especially fun is how little effort it takes to achieve such rich, satisfying flavor.

No complicated techniques, no long list of ingredients, and no stress. Just simple elements coming together to create something warm, buttery, and full of flavor.

If you’ve never tried roasted garlic before, this is a great place to start and see just how much flavor it can develop.

Roasting completely transforms it, soft, mellow, slightly sweet, and once you’ve had it this way, it’s hard to go back.

Want to make it a full comfort meal? Pair it with a bowl of soup. The exact soup choice is flexible, but it works especially well with tomato-based soups.

So, what are you waiting for? Time to make it happen. Preheat that oven to 190-200°C and let’s do this.

Ingredients
  • 1 baguette or loaf
  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 100 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1-2 tsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Paprika (optional)
  • Chopped parsley
  • Grated cheese (mozzarella or parmesan)
Instructions
  • Slice the top off the garlic head, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and wrap in foil.
  • Roast for around 40 minutes until soft and golden. Let it cool, then squeeze out the garlic cloves.
