Washington – Steven Spielberg did it again. From “ET,” to “Jurassic Park,” to now another film about extraterrestrial life coming in contact with humanity: “Disclosure Day.”
But this time, Spielberg says this film is closer to reality than fiction.
“Disclosure Day” is not about alien attacks, but more of a global panic, empathy, and moral quandaries as an alien is exposed to the world by not only herself, but also a whistleblower.
Spielberg captures what happens to the world, psychologically, when the existence of aliens is leaked from a 79-year-old government. He is hopeful that this film will change the world for the better.
Apart from the wonderful writing of the film, it was the actor-director connection that made the movie worth making.
The actors: Emily Blunt, Josh O’Conner, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes have expressed extreme gratitude for working with Spielberg.
Wyatt Russell explained how Spielberg’s way of directing is personal and empathetic, which emphasizes the film’s theme of empathy with the extraterrestrial beings.
Colman Domingo, who is also in the television shows “Euphoria” and “The Four Seasons,” described this film as hopeful, alluding to embracing the unknown and encouraging compassion.
The bonds that the cast made while working together was unique to this film given Spielberg’s welcoming, thoughtful atmosphere and the special work that Spielberg has put in to make “Disclosure Day” the very accurate fictional alien interaction with humanity.
