Rabat – The Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism signed the executive program for cultural cooperation 2024-2028 on Thursday in Rabat

 

Led by Moroccan Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and Chinese Vice Minister Rao Quan, the program aims to bolster cultural exchanges, stimulate bilateral ties, and establish a collaborative framework to amplify the cultural essence of both nations.

 

Speaking to the press, Bensaid highlighted the longstanding historical connections and shared heritage between Morocco and China. 

 

He underscored that the program goes beyond mere cultural exchange, emphasizing its role in strengthening the economic and political bonds between the two nations.

 

The Moroccan minister stressed the importance of cultural activities, TV, and cinema in bringing the citizens of both countries closer.

 

He promoted the idea that culture serves as a valuable tool, acting as a bridge between the Moroccan and Chinese people. He also advocated for a stronger Moroccan cultural influence in China through joint artistic projects.

 

Quan echoed these sentiments, reaffirming China’s dedication to expanding cultural exchanges. 

 

He signaled a fresh chapter, emphasizing youth involvement, artistic endeavors, heritage conservation, and educational collaboration between the two nations.

 

The program also seeks to collaborate closely with UNESCO to promote mutual understandings across borders, nurturing a feeling of cultural cohesion.

 

During ITB China 2024, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) marked its first appearance at the trade fair for the Chinese travel industry. 

 

In a bid to strengthen the bond between the two nations, the ONMT showcased Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, to attract more Chinese tourists in the future.
