Rabat – The legendary sounds of Pink Floyd echoed through the Studio des Arts Vivants on Thursday during a tribute concert by the Africa Band.

The Moroccan Pink Floyd Tribute by Africa Band was created by Faïçal Tadlaoui and Yonnel Lallouz and has been winning hearts since 2011, the band said in a statement.

The band delivered a number of standout performances at Jazzablanca, L’Boulevard, and Megarama, among others.

As the only African band dedicated to honoring Pink Floyd, the Africa Band has kicked off a series of concerts across Morocco before starting on an African tour. Their goal is to perform in various cities and capitals across the continent.

In response to the growing popularity of tribute bands, Radio Factory, Touareg Prod, and Ligne Rouge created the Moroccan Pink Floyd Tribute by Africa Band “RELOADED.”

The revamped tribute show features new musicians and unreleased tracks like “Keep Talking.”

It also includes a 25-minute non-stop medley, blending Pink Floyd songs with tracks from other bands, never before performed live.

The all-Moroccan band fuses Pink Floyd’s music with oriental instruments like the Qanoon while preserving the rock essence of the electric guitar.

Upcoming dates will be announced nationwide, including a performance at the Amazigh festival in August 2024, and a series of resident shows at the Grande Salle des Ministres at the Palais des Congres.

The band also has international plans, including a July 2025 appearance at the Super Bock Super Rock festival in Portugal.
