Rabat – During a visit to Melbourne with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle took a moment to share something deeply personal: her experience with online bullying.

Speaking to a group of young people at Swinburne University, she revealed that she faced constant online attacks for nearly ten years.

It wasn’t just occasional criticism. Meghan described it as something she went through almost every single day, calling it one of the hardest periods of her life.

Hearing her speak so openly made the conversation feel real, especially for the young audience who are growing up in a world shaped by social media.

Instead of just warning about the dangers online, Meghan connected with them on a personal level.

She explained how those years affected her mentally and emotionally, but also how they made her more aware of what others might be going through today.

Prince Harry also joined the conversation, showing his support for Australia’s new rules limiting social media access for those under 16.

He called the move “important,” saying it could help protect younger generations, even if it comes after years of growing concerns.

Meghan didn’t hold back when talking about social media platforms either.

She pointed out that many of these platforms thrive on attention, good or bad, which makes it harder to control harmful content.

She encouraged young people to stay strong, not to let negativity define them, and to understand their own worth beyond what they see online.

Earlier that day, the couple also spent time exploring Melbourne’s cultural side, connecting with Indigenous communities and learning more about local heritage, adding a meaningful layer to a visit already filled with honest conversations.
