Casablanca – The second evening of Jazzablanca Festival brought one of its most anticipated performances as Moroccan-Canadian artist Faouzia returned to the stage in the city where her story began.

This was more than just another stop on her tour. It marked her very first performance in Casablanca, the city where she was born, and only her second concert in Morocco.

From the moment she stepped onto the Casa Anfa stage, Faouzia brought her signature blend of powerful vocals, emotion, and energy to an audience that had eagerly awaited her return.

Dressed in a flowing burgundy gown, the singer moved effortlessly across the stage, filling every moment with spontaneity and charisma.

Her soaring vocals, expressive stage presence, and the unmistakable sound of her songs transformed the concert into an emotional journey that resonated throughout the venue.

And the audience was right there with her.

From the opening notes to the final song, festivalgoers danced, sang along, and applauded throughout the performance, creating an atmosphere that reflected the excitement surrounding Faouzia’s long-awaited return.

A birthday celebration on home soil

Yet the evening carried another personal meaning for the artist.

Speaking to the audience, Faouzia shared that she was celebrating her birthday around this time of the year.

Just two days after the concert, on July 5, she will mark another year, making the Jazzablanca performance feel like an early birthday celebration surrounded by her fans.

Performing before a home crowd, and especially in the city where she was born, gave the occasion an even deeper significance.

Ending with a Moroccan touch

As if the evening couldn’t become any more personal, Faouzia chose to end it with a distinctly Moroccan touch.

Wearing a black Moroccan caftan adorned with burgundy motifs, Faouzia performed Cheb Mami and Sting’s Desert Rose, bringing the concert to an emotional close that beautifully reflected both her international journey and her Moroccan roots.

For Casablanca, it was more than a concert. It was a homecoming filled with emotion, celebration, and a reminder of the special bond that continues to unite Faouzia with her Moroccan audience.
