Rabat – Marriott Hotels has expanded its footprint in Morocco with the opening of Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, the brand’s first resort in the country, adding another international name to the fast-growing Atlantic coastal destination.
Located just north of Agadir, the beachfront property sits within Taghazout Bay, a destination that has gained international recognition for its surf culture, golf courses, and year-round outdoor lifestyle.
The opening emphasizes the area’s growing appeal as one of Morocco’s leading leisure and luxury tourism hubs.
The resort offers 221 guestrooms and 29 suites, each featuring a private balcony or terrace with views of the Atlantic Ocean, landscaped gardens, or swimming pools.
Its interiors draw inspiration from Morocco’s Atlantic coastline, combining natural stone, woven textiles, and locally crafted furnishings in a contemporary interpretation of Moroccan design.
Guests are welcomed through Marriott Hotels’ signature Greatroom, a multifunctional social space designed for everything from morning coffee and casual meetings to evening drinks, replacing the traditional hotel lobby with a more flexible gathering area.
Dining is centered around four distinct concepts inspired by different coastlines around the world. Rivage serves Mediterranean cuisine overlooking the Atlantic, while Salt & Lime brings Mexican Pacific and Southern Californian flavors to the poolside.
Brasa specializes in fire-led Mediterranean cooking with an ocean-facing terrace, and Chiringuito by Salt & Lime offers light bites and drinks just steps from the beach.
The resort also features four outdoor swimming pools, padel courts, a whirlpool, and a fully equipped fitness center, reflecting Taghazout Bay’s reputation as an active lifestyle destination.
A spa is scheduled to open later this summer, expanding the property’s wellness offering.
Beyond the resort, visitors have easy access to Taghazout Bay’s surf schools, watersports, and one of Morocco’s premier coastal golf courses, while Agadir’s marina, traditional souks, and seaside promenade are only a short drive away.
The opening adds to the growing collection of hotels within Taghazout Bay, an eco-conscious coastal development that combines hospitality, residential communities, wellness facilities, golf, and outdoor activities while emphasizing environmental preservation.
As Marriott Hotels’ first resort in Morocco, the launch reflects the continued rise of Taghazout Bay as a luxury travel destination.
