Khan sustained six knife wounds, including one close to his spine, and required emergency surgery.

Marrakech – Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is currently stable in the hospital after being attacked with a knife at his Mumbai residence, suffering multiple wounds.

The attack occurred in the early hours of the morning when Khan, 54, was at home with his wife, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children.

Reports indicate that Khan sustained six knife wounds, including one close to his spine, and required emergency surgery.

Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital told reports that the actor had “sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine.”

The knife was removed, and repairs were made to leaking spinal fluid. Two other “deep wounds,” one on his left hand and one on his neck, were also repaired.

His team has released a statement saying he is “out of danger.”

Reports suggest that the attack followed a scuffle between Khan and an unidentified man who had gained access to his home.

Mumbai’s Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam told the BBC, “An argument broke out between Khan and the intruder,” leading to the violent attempt on his life.

The police have confirmed that the assailant’s identity remains “unknown.”

Khan’s representatives have described the incident as an “attempted burglary,” adding that his wife and two young children are safe.

The police believe the assailant likely entered the building through a shaft, as CCTV footage shows no one entering the building around the time of the attack.

The investigation into the attack is ongoing, with authorities looking into all potential leads.
